My Valentine

I have to admit
I've dreaded this day
To celebrate love
With you so far away
But its a tiny bit special
Because you know what they say
Your heart will grow fonder
When your love is away

Spring Semester = Easy?

Well,

The spring semester 2010 has begun (weeks ago, but better late than never.)

I'm taking four classes.

1. Intro to Clinical Practice - Very cool class. Answering a LOT of questions that have been running through my mind about what it will be like to actually BE a speech path and what it is going to take for me to get there. Another good thing about this class is that there IS. NO. BOOK. (!!!!) But don't worry... the book for my next class is big enough for two classes. ha. We do however, have to read a lot of articles and write summaries on them. But that helps me understand it better... no complaining here! :)

2. Introduction to Communication Disorders - I should've actually taken this class LAST semester, but there was a big conflict with the programs schedule and the class was unavailable :( So I'm taking it this semester, which is kind of ok because I pretty much already know most of it all... it is kind of a big review class from last semester!

3. Language Disorders in Children - Cool class. 3 big projects through the semester, and only a mid term and a final... that is scary. We'll see how this goes...

4. Phonological and Articulatory Disorders in Children - I just don't know about this class yet... it has just been a lot of anatomy review from last semester...

I'm excited (now) because I feel like I'm getting somewhere. Classes seem easy so far and I'm really enjoying them. I hope it goes smoothly and I'm studying HARD for straight A's!!

Stupid Day

Now... Stupid is a bad word. But in this case, it is a very appropriate word.

Today was stupid.

I stayed up late having a little argument through emails with the boy.
Woke up at 7 and hit snooze. Woke up every 5 minutes after that continuing to hit snooze until aprox 7:40 am.
Ran (late) out of the house around 9:05 still chewing cereal in my mouth (gross huh?)
Decided I wanted to pay the extra $1.50 for a close parking spot on Arkansas Ave.
Spent what seemed like an eternity holding up traffic making a left turn onto Ark Ave and being honked at.
Quickly started realizing that there were NO parallel parking spots available...
FOUND ONE that I could barely squeeze into because apparently someone (DAD) didn't teach me how to parallel park when I was 16.
Figured the job I did would have to be OK, since i was about to be late for class.
Came out of class to a 20 dollar PARKING TICKET.
Went to Creative School where I was totally out of it and people kept looking at me funny. (It was just strange)
Came home only to procrastinate with all the thousands of pages I have to read tonight...
Still not happy with the boy situation and can't get it out of my head... Maybe thats the reason for the "stupid day"

What am I complaining about? There are people in Haiti who have lost everything...

and my major complaint is a parking ticket.

I'll take a "stupid day" any day.

Miss him.

See ya in May Dylan!

Dylan left on Monday January 4th. It was a sad goodbye... but not a lot of crying. The ride back home was quiet though.

He has done a lot of traveling. I feel bad for him. I don't get to talk to him that much, but when I do I like to find out where he is, what he is doing, what the time difference is, what he has eaten that day, and if he gets enough rest. He is probably sick of the same old questions :) But right now, he seems to be in good spirits and getting enough sleep and food... so I'm happy. I can't WAIT for him to be home though. This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. To tell you the truth, I was ready for him to go so I could gain back some independence and do things on my own. Now that he's gone, I get teary eyed thinking about our summer adventures and going swimming at "the river" and hitting up sonic happy hour or Starbucks before we walk around target or the mall. He said before he left "Now you aren't allowed to go to Wal-Mart when it is dark outside until I get back." What a goober. At least he cares though, right?

On Tuesday morning, I was getting ready for my day at Creative school and it was the last time Dylan and I could text back and forth. I said "I want you back" and he said "Girl, you never lost me" After that, I tried to put on make up while crying and THAT didn't go over so well ;) Tuesday was a pretty emotional day... But I haven't cried since then!

I miss him already, and I'm worried for his safety, but I think my number one worry is that he will come back a different person. I want the same Dylan to come back and be goofy and messy and gross. He is such a dang boy ;)

Here are some pictures of Monday morning

Christmas with Dylan

Dylan leaves on Monday morning at 8:00. It's been a rough Christmas break for what was supposed to be spent light hearted with lots of time together, getting along and having fun. I think we are both scared. I can't speak for him, and because of the lack of communication we've been having, I don't even know what he's thinking. But I am honestly scared, for him and for our relationship.

However, before our "breakdown" We did enjoy some time together baking cookies for my family Christmas party. It was a LOT of fun. He was actually pretty creative...
